New Year countdown party at Marina Bay to feature 70-minute fireworks display
The Star Island party will also feature a food village and live DJ performances.
Miss the fireworks and music of New Year’s eve at Marina Bay? After a two-year hiatus Star Island Singapore Countdown 2022-2023 is set to return this New Year’s Eve to ring in 2023 with a bang at The Float at Marina Bay.
Set against the city skyline and with a 22,000 seating capacity, Star Island will feature artisanal Japanese fireworks that have not been featured anywhere in Southeast Asia, as part of a 70-minute fireworks musical extravaganza.
This year’s show will include for the first time “Ghost Effect Shell” fireworks, which bloom in a red-to-white graduation in the sky.
In addition, fireworks handcrafted by Japanese artisans that received the Prime Minister Award at Japan’s Omagari Fireworks Competition earlier this year are also set to debut in this countdown.

Star Island’s countdown features stage performances with a new storyline, choreographed to a 70-minute soundtrack enhanced by experiential show elements, cutting-edge sound technology, pyrotechnics and dynamic laser displays.

The countdown is a futuristic twist on the traditional Hanabi entertainment show, a long-standing Japanese summer tradition where people gather to eat, drink and watch firework displays at night.
In the same spirit, there will also be a food village and entertainment options for all ages to complement the main show.
Tickets will go on sale from Oct 20 ranging from $88 to $388 for a VIP experience with exclusive entitlements. All tickets permit entry to the seated gallery at The Float at Marina Bay and the food village. The waitlist for tickets is now available on Star Island’s website.
Between Dec 25 and 30, there will be a free admission event preview called Prequel to Star Island held at MBS Event Plaza for visitors to get a sneak peek of the show.

Star Island will be held in conjunction with Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2023, which will include activities around Marina Bay such as The Great Food Fiesta and entertainment offerings at After Hours @ The Lawn.
