Were you or someone you know born in 1973, 1985, 1997 or 2009? You can commemorate their Chinese zodiac animal by pre-ordering some collectible coins.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) unveiled its 2021 Year Of The Ox Almanac Coins, which feature an ox against the backdrop of Coney Island Park. The park used to be home to a mysterious bull, affectionately nicknamed the Coney Island Cow.

Their face values range from $5 to $200, and all coins – except the nickel-plated zinc coins – come with a serialised certificate of authenticity.

These limited edition coins are the fifth edition in MAS’ Singapore Fourth Almanac Coin Series, which feature coins with a zodiac animal and a natural landscape setting or park in Singapore. The series, which was launched in 2017, will span 12 years.

The coins can be pre-ordered on The Singapore Mint between Nov 19 and Dec 20 this year, and will be issued on Jan 1 next year.
