Be part of the 100 youths who will learn the foundations in the world of esports.
A new Esports Youth Programme launching this November aims to inspire and immerse the youths in the world of esports.
A joint initiative by the National Youth Council (NYC), Singapore Esports Association (SGEA) and IMG, the Esports Youth Programme will give 100 students from Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other organisations the chance to experience the fundamentals of the esports ecosystem.
“We want to challenge our young people to take ownership of their aspirations and the NYC is glad to have SGEA and IMG onboard as partners to provide our youth the developmental opportunities and hands-on experience in the esports industry,” said David Chua, CEO of NYC.
The students will attend workshops and have the opportunity to have meaningful discussions with industry leaders and top content creators.
They will also be brought to the Global Esports Games (GEG) which will take place in Singapore from Dec 15 to Dec 19 where they will help with managing the event and the execution of safety measures for players. GEG will also teach the students how to curate content for social media.
Furthermore, a select group will be offered internships with GosuGamers, Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC), IMG, Refract and SGEA, where they will further develop skills in the corporate world.
Students from the stated schools above can sign up for the Esports Youth Programme through their schools from Oct 25 to Oct 29.
