New COVID-19 cluster forms at Madrasah Irsyad Zuhri Al-Islamiah

Madrasah Irsyad Zuhri Al-Islamiah was identified as a new COVID-19 cluster on Tuesday (Sep 7), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said. m

Eight new cases were linked to the Islamic religious school at Braddell Road, out of the 328 new local infections on Tuesday.

The eight bus interchange clusters also had 28 new cases linked to it.

There are now 174 cases at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, 136 cases at Boon Lay Bus Interchange, 47 cases at Clementi Bus Interchange, 42 cases at Jurong East Bus Interchange, 37 cases at Punggol Bus Interchange, 41 cases at Tampines Bus Interchange, 32 cases at Bishan Bus Interchange and 28 cases at Sengkang Bus Interchange. 

Only the clusters at Punggol, Sengkang and Bishan had no new cases on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Jurong Fishery Port/Hong Lim Market and Food Centre cluster has been closed as no new cases have been added to it since Aug 15. 

It was the largest community cluster in Singapore and had 1,155 cases linked to it.

The number of active clusters in Singapore now stands at 53. 

Of the new local COVID-19 infections on Monday, 185 were unlinked, 91 were linked to previous cases and were already placed on quarantine while 52 were detected through surveillance. 

There were four imported cases who were placed either on Stay-Home Notice or in isolation upon arrival in Singapore.
