New Balance opens new concept store at ION Orchard, releases new products

Fans of New Balance can now purchase new and reimagined sneakers and apparel at the brand’s first 1906 concept outlet in Southeast Asia at ION Orchard.

The new concept store serves the latest offerings from the global athletic brand, offering its most extensive range of lifestyle merchandise in one
place.

The store will carry lifestyle merchandise including unisex and gender neutral sportswear staples constructed from the overlapping measurements of traditional men’s and women’s sizing.

There will also be sought after collections such as the Made in the UK and the Made in the USA collections.

In conjunction with the opening of the concept store, New Balance has released multiple new footwear lines and apparel collections.

One arrival is the 574+, a fresh interpretation of one of New Balance’s most iconic sneakers. While trademark features of the 574 such as the suede uppers and branded tongue labels remain, an elevated midsole underneath is added.

Another new arrival is the 1906R, a nod to the original 1906 tech running shoe. The 1906R is said to “combine modern tech with everyday utilitarian style” and is a “throwback to the techy aesthetic of 2000s runners”.

A new sneaker and apparel line that the store carries is the Teddy Santis MADE in USA Collection.

This features limited edition sneakers such as the 990v1, 990v2 and 990v3 and also a range of classic American sportswear apparel such as sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts and t-shirts.

Coenraad Heferm, the Country Manager of Singapore and Malaysia said that sportswear is for anyone, not just athletes, that allows them to be active, comfortable and stylish.

“This is what the new 1906 store is about – to become a destination and meeting place for those seeking a blend of fitness, function and fashion.”

The New Balance 1906 store is located at ION Orchard, #B4-28 and is open from 10am to 10pm daily.
