Netflix’s Stranger Things renewed for fifth and final season
Season four will also premiere this year in two separate volumes.
Prepare yourself for a bingefest, for Stranger Things is coming back.
Netflix announced on Feb 17 that Stranger Things will be renewed for a fifth and final season.
Producers Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as the Duffer Brothers, said in an open letter to fans that they had planned the complete story arc of Stranger Things seven years ago.
“At the time, we predicted the story would last four or five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale,” the brothers said.
Stranger Things is a science fiction horror Netflix original series first released in 2016. The plot revolves around disturbing supernatural events that began to occur in a small town after a young boy disappeared.
Netflix has also revealed that season four is set to premiere in two separate volumes. The first volume will be released on May 27 and the second on July 1.
Fans have been waiting nearly three years since the previous season, as season four’s production was delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
