Netflix to adapt Keanu Reeves’s comic ‘BRZRKR’ into a live-action movie and anime series

Netflix has announced their next major franchise with the adaptation of ‘BRZRKR’ which Keanu Reeves will star in and produce.

Netflix has announced the development of Keanu Reeves’s debut comic, BRZRKR, into a live-action film and sequel anime adaptation. 

Reeves will produce and star as the protagonist, B in the film adaptation. He is also set to voice the character in the anime spinoff series. 

No official release date has been announced for the adaptation yet.

BRZRKR is a new 12-issue series made by Boom! Studios that follow the 80,000 year journey of B, an immortal warrior who is half-mortal and half-god. 

B works for the US government where he fights violent battles in exchange for the secrets behind his immortality and how to end it.

 

Netflix is collaborating with Boom! Studios which will allow the streaming service to have a first look at live-action and animated projects by the publisher. PHOTO CREDIT: BOOM! STUDIOS

 

This successful action-fantasy series was created and written by Reeves alongside writer Matt Kindt and illustrator Ron Garney. 

Since the comic book’s launch on Mar 3, BRZRKR has sold over 615,000 copies. This was Boom! Studios’ highest-selling comic book launch after almost thirty years.
