NDP 2022 theme song ‘Stronger Together’ sung by Taufik Batisah, music video inspired by real-life stories
The song’s accompanying music video features various individuals and groups including the Singapore Artistic Swim Team and Singapore Airlines.
In celebration of Singapore’s 57th birthday and its road to recovery since the pandemic, the National Day Parade 2022 theme song and accompanying music video was released on Jun 2 (Thursday).
Titled Stronger Together, the song is a rallying call for Singaporeans to unite and overcome while looking ahead to a brighter and shared future.
The upbeat number was composed by local award-winning songwriter and composer Don Richmond and sung by local singer Taufik Batisah, with supporting vocals from The Island Voices.

“It feels really good to be invited again to sing the National Day song”, Taufik said, “It feels like a celebration as we are going back to sort of a new normal where a lot of people can gather.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Lindsay Jialin, was inspired by real-life stories of Singaporeans with a focus on community and resilience.
Numerous local individuals and groups are featured in the video.
These include Team Singapore’s Artistic Swimmers, to emphasise on the strength of teamwork; the Dance Spectrum International, a dance academy that promotes inclusivity and celebration of abilities; Kim Whye Kee, for his inspiring story of overcoming his troubled past to now help ex-convicts and at-risk youths; Redeafination, a dance group that promotes deaf awareness and bring the joy of dancing to the deaf community; social enterprise Urban Terrain Groovers, that uses dance to reach out to youth including those marginalised and at-risk; and Singapore Airlines, for the efforts of its staff, pilots and cabin crew who were redeployed to support the hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Announced on the same day, the theme song will be performed by a virtual choir during the National Day Parade on Aug 9.
Themed Stronger Together, Majulah!, the celebrations will be held at The Float @ Marina Bay. Singaporeans can also look forward to a slew of memorable events from Aug 6 to 9, including heartland fireworks, flypasts and free fall performances by the Red Lions.
