Highlights of the virtual open house include a multimedia interactive tour for visitors to explore the Istana grounds, including a bunker.
The Istana will not be opening its doors to the public this National Day, but here’s how you can still explore its sprawling grounds – including a bunker that is not accessible to the public!
On Aug 2, 2020, President Halimah Yacob will be hosting a virtual Istana Open House to celebrate this year’s National Day.
Highlights of the virtual open house include an interactive tour of spaces that are rarely seen by the public, such as a 14.5-metre deep well and an air-raid shelter, also known as the “bunker”.
The virtual open house also includes special segments hosted by the National Museum of Singapore and sneak previews of the Asian Civilisations Museum’s virtual galleries and National Day programme.
Look out for the segment on the Our Heart for Singapore project, presented by the National Day Parade 2020 organising committee, which showcases Singaporeans’ reflections, thanks, hopes and aspirations for the nation.
Catch the livestream of the virtual open house on President Halimah’s Facebook and Instagram pages at 10am on Aug 2.
