Nanyang Polytechnic to host Early Admissions Exercise Festival in June to assist poly applicants
The festival will offer a series of talks, workshops and tours to guide students through the EAE process and gain insight into the respective schools and courses.
Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) announced on May 26 that it will mount 14 activities in June to help O-level students and their parents through this year’s Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise (EAE).
Titled the EAE Festival, this year’s event will consist of a series of talks, seminars, and tours which will take place both online and in-person. The activities are intended to help prospective students learn more about NYP’s schools and courses and gain tips on securing a spot via the EAE.
This year’s EAE festival will kick off on Jun 3 with an online webinar helmed by the polytechnic’s principal and CEO Jeanne Liew, where she will share more about NYP and the advantages of the EAE.
During the webinar, participants can take part in a live Q&A session and join breakout rooms for an NYP school of their choice to clarify their doubts.
Following the webinar on Jun 3, here are the in-person and online activities to expect during this year’s NYP EAE Festival.
In-person activities
From Jun 4 to Jun 11, students can head down to NYP to explore its facilities during a campus tour. During their visit to the campus, students will get to meet prospective lecturers and student seniors to learn more about the respective courses.
An in-person educational and career guidance session titled Discovering Your Potential will also run for parents on Jun 4. The session is intended to walk them through the process of helping their children understand their interests and aptitudes.
There will also be a workshop on Jun 11 where students will be taught more about the 600- or 1,000-character write-ups required for their EAE applications.
Online activities
Similar to the one on Jun 11, there will be a virtual workshop on the 600 or 1,000-character writeups which will take place on Jun 9.
There will additionally be two online workshops specifically catered towards Design & Media applicants which will take place on Jun 6 and Jun 10. During the virtual workshops, students will learn from NYP’s lecturers about how they can prepare an ideal design portfolio.
From Jun 14 to Jun 16, students will also get to learn more about the respective schools and courses in NYP through the E-Meet Our Schools activity.
The schools, which include applied science, business, design, engineering, healthcare or IT, will take the students through the courses they offer and share insights about what they look out for in EAE applicants during interviews.
Seniors will also share about their EAE journey during the online sessions.
Registration for the various activities is required and spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested students may register here.
