Nanyang Polytechnic’s (NYP) Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) Festival will return for its third edition from May 26 to Jun 8.

Students and parents can look forward to a wide range of activities including EAE preparation workshops, parent seminars and campus tours that are available both on-site and online.

The physical activities will begin on May 26, when students and parents can attend the EAE Parents’ Seminar from 7pm to 8.15pm.

Conducted by NYP’s deputy principal and director Esther Ho, the seminar will explain what EAE is and the steps to secure a spot in NYP before taking the O-Levels.

The seminar will be followed by a tour of the six different schools from 8.25pm to 9.25pm. Course consultations will also be available at NYP’s Auditorium Lobby from 6pm to 9.30pm.

On May 27, the festival will also feature campus tours that offer potential students the opportunity to explore the various schools and courses offered by NYP. The Choose Your NYP Experience will run over two sessions, with the first tour set to take place from 11.15am to 12.45pm while the second will run from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Participants can look forward to activities specially curated by each of the schools, such as drawing blood samples from a synthetic arm at the School of Applied Science. Other activities include learning to design a robot at the School of Engineering and observing a live simulation of current NYP students attending to an injured patient at the School of Health and Social Sciences.

There will also be three workshops on May 27 that will equip students with the skills to do well in the EAE application process. This includes the Craft Your 600-Character Write-Up workshop from 10am to 11am, the Portfolio and Interview workshop and the Discover Your Potential workshop which will both be held between 1.45pm and 2.45pm.

Students can also speak to lecturers, admission experts as well as education and career coaches who will be hosting course consultation sessions from 11am to 4.30pm. They will help recommend courses based on the strengths, interests and aptitude of applicants.

Those looking to participate in the tour or the workshops can register their interest through NYP’s website.

For those who are unable to make it for the physical tours, the school will run a virtual tour of NYP via Zoom on May 31.

Called e-Meet our Schools, the tour will begin with a sharing session by each school between 4.30pm and 5.45pm, where students will be guided through the available courses and get an insight into the qualities each course seeks in EAE applicants during the interview process.

This will be followed by two workshops conducted by the School of Design and Media. Named the Understand the Design Portfolio Requirements and the Create an Online Design Portfolio, these workshops will take place on Jun 1 and Jun 8 respectively from 5.45pm to 7pm.
