Muslim-owned Singaporean fashion brands you can support for Hari Raya

It’s part of our Islamic habitual practice, also known as sunnah, to dress our best on the first day of Hari Raya. 

And as the festive Hari Raya Puasa is just around the corner, you might be looking to buy a new baju kurung

From Golden Landmark and Bugis to online stores, here are seven local shops where you might find the right outfit for you and your family!

1. Simply Rays

Simply Rays offers Hari Raya clothes for toddlers, young children and adults, making shopping easy for families who want to wear matching outfits.

This homegrown boutique has a section specially for Hari Raya titled RaysRaya2021. In it, there is a wide selection of baju kurungs with different designs.

Other than RaysRaya2021, Simply Rays also has other sections, such as for ladies, men, children, casual wear and plus-size.

Alternatively, you can head down to their physical outlet for a $10 session that would allow you to view their full collection physically.

2. Alia Anggun

Serving unique and modest designs for baju kurungs, Alia Anggun is the place to go if you are aiming for simplicity and elegance this year. 

This clothing brand offers baju kurungs for women, and also showcases their collection on their Instagram, @aliaanggun.

Besides baju kurungs, Alia Anggun also offers day-to-day clothes for women.

3. Ozel

A batik brand based in Singapore, Ozel’s products are designed to combine traditional and modern batik apparel. 

Only some of their Hari Raya collection, OzelRaya2021, are available in-store while the others are only available through pre-order.

Other than clothes, Ozel also produces batik masks, shoes and bags to go along with their outfits.

4. Love Aisyah

Founder of Love Aisyah, Aisyah Lim decided to use her degree in fashion to create modern baju kurungs that are both timeless and comfortable. 

This fashion brand is also family-friendly as they have matching outfits for mothers and daughters.

Other than that, Love Aisyah has a variety of modern baju kurungs in classic lace and kebaya designs.

5. Natalie La Bella

Natalie La Bella offers women-only fashion, from clothes, floral masks, bags and belts and earrings for Hari Raya online. 

For this year’s Hari Raya spread, this boutique has modern kaftans, lace peplum kurungs, babydoll kurungs and more for shoppers to look forward to!

For men and boys, the boutique has two kinds of kurtas – double pocketed and long sleeve. 

If you’re looking for more affordable options, several baju kurungs from last year’s Eid collection are currently in their sale section.

All of their kurungs are ready stocked, and their couriers are reviewed to have excellent service and fast deliveries. All orders will take two to four days to reach you. 

6. Katt & Co

This online boutique is thoughtfully designed to be inclusive with sizes ranging from XS to XXXL, subject to availability. 

Titled ModEid2021, Katt & Co’s Hari Raya collection for this year has baju kurung pahang, retro-styled kurungs and pleated kurungs

In Katt & Co’s Raya collection, they have more designs of baju kurungs like batik and kebayas. For batik, they have one v-neck and one floral-designed. For kebayas, they have a collection of two styles of lace kebaya and Esme kebaya

They offer free delivery for orders above $80 and a standard $4 surcharge for orders below $80. They deliver within three to five days but will only process orders on weekdays. Any orders after 6 pm on Fridays will be processed the following Monday. 

7. Hanul SG

If you are looking for something more modest and traditional this year, this might be for you! This retailer specialises in abayas, a clothing of cultural and national heritage of the Arab states.

An abaya is traditionally a black long robe but Hanul SG offers abayas that are elegant and fashionable, yet modest. 

Their abayas come in various colours and designs, making them suitable for events ranging from funerals, weddings, Hari Raya and prayers.
