More thundery showers expected in first half of February
The daily maximum temperature can still be around 34 degrees Celsius on some days.
More thundery showers can be expected in the first fortnight of February 2022, said the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) on Monday (Jan 31).
This is because of the monsoon rain band expected to lie closer to the equatorial Southeast Asia region, with winds of low level blowing from the northwest or northeast.
During the first few days of the month, a mass of dry air may result in generally fair and warm weather over most parts of the country.
As the monsoon rain band migrates closer to the Equator, moderate to heavy thundery showers can be expected on most days, even extending into the evenings on some days.
MSS also added that the rainfall for the first half of February is forecast to be above average over most parts of the island.
Despite the wet weather prediction, the daily maximum temperature can still be around 34 degrees Celsius on some days.
On most days however, the daily temperature can range between 24 and 33 degrees Celsius.
