More showers are forecast for the rest of October as compared to the first half of the month, said the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) on Monday (Oct 16).

Singaporeans can also expect lower daily temperatures for the rest of October, with daily maximum temperatures ranging between 33 and 34 degrees Celsius.

Thundery showers are likely to take place in the later half of October. During the week of Oct 16, afternoon showers might occur and extend into the evening on some days.

Short-duration showers also are expected to happen in some parts of Singapore in the late morning and afternoon during the last week of October.

In the southern Southeast Asia region, more rainfall is forecast to take place in the last two weeks of October. This could lead to improvements in the haze situation, with a reduced likelihood of haze affecting Singapore.

MSS added that there is a low chance for the 24-hr PSI to reach the Unhealthy range in Singapore for the upcoming two weeks.
