MOE unveils 2021 school year calendar
The 2021 school year calendar includes 10 public holidays and four scheduled school holidays.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has released the 2021 school calendar for all primary and secondary schools, junior colleges (JC) and Millennia Institute (MI), including vacation periods and scheduled school holidays.
The new school term in 2021 for primary and secondary schools will span from Jan 4 to Nov 19.
This is a return to the schedule from previous years. 2020’s school schedule saw many adjustments due to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the June school holidays being brought forward to May.
For first-year JC or MI students, the new school term begins Jan 29, 2021. Second-year students will start on Jan 11, 2021.
There will be four vacation periods for primary and secondary, JCs and MI as per previous years.
In total, there will be 10 public holidays and four added scheduled school holidays. The four scheduled school holidays are: Youth Day (Jul 4), Day after National Day (Aug 10), Teachers’ Day (Sep 3) and Childrens’ Day (Oct 8).
As Youth Day (Jul 4) is on Sunday, the following Monday (Jul 5) will be a scheduled school holiday.
