Minecraft collaborates with Spain’s LaLiga to release team jerseys as skin pack
A free LaLiga kit will be available on any Minecraft Bedrock Edition platform in Minecraft’s Dressing room.
Spanish football league LaLiga has announced a licensing agreement with renowned sandbox video game Minecraft to release in-game cosmetics.
LaLiga is the sports association responsible for administering the top two professional football leagues in Spain, including the top tier LaLiga Santander consisting of teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.
Players will be left spoilt for choice as they can customise their in-game avatars with the jerseys of all 20 teams in the LaLiga Santander through purchasing the skin packs released on Sep 27.
The default character model will also change to look like footballers such as Lionel Messi, allowing Minecraft players to adventure with others while representing their favourite football teams and players.
A total of 80 skins can be purchased on any Minecraft Bedrock Edition platform, including the App Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox, Nintendo and Playstation by accessing the Minecraft Marketplace from these providers.

One skin pack on Xbox costs about CAD$4 (S$4.20). Alternatively, the Minecraft Marketplace offers the LaLiga skin pack for 490 Minecoins (about S$4.50).
A free LaLiga skin Kit will also be available in Minecraft’s Dressing Room, so players who do not want to spend money on in-game items will still be able to enjoy the 2022-2023 season and 2023-2024 football season with their own LaLiga skin in Minecraft.
