McDonald’s brings back Quarter Pounder permanently; launches new Chargrilled Chicken McShaker Fries
Other classics like the Big Mac are also improved with unique bun formulas, caramelised onions and juicier patties.
The Quarter Pounder with Cheese will make its permanent return to the McDonald’s menu from Feb 2.
This will be accompanied by the release of the new Chargrilled Chicken McShaker Fries and the return of Caramel Frappé with Oreo.

A Quarter Pounder with Cheese is available at $6.30 a la carte and $8.10 for an Extra Value Meal. Customers can also opt for the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, priced at $7.90 a la carte and $9.70 for an Extra Value Meal.
The Chargrilled Chicken McShaker Fries and Caramel Frappé with Oreo can also be purchased a la carte for $3.95 and $4.70 respectively.
According to McDonald’s, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Big Mac and Double Cheeseburger have been improved through better cooking and preparation methods.
There are three different bun formulas uniquely designed for the burgers, and these upgraded recipes come with a glaze coating that keeps the buns “moist, slightly tender and caramelised”.
Improvements have also been made to its patties, cheese and onions.
The patties are now cooked on a flattening grill with more gaps to retain its juiciness. In addition, the cheese is thawed to 17.5 degrees Celsius to achieve the “perfect melt”. Each burger will also contain 3.5 grams of onions caramelised atop the patties, said McDonald’s.

All of the items are available from Feb 2 for takeaway or dine-in at all McDonald’s outlets. They can also be purchased at McDonald’s Drive-Thrus, McDelivery, GrabFood and foodpanda.
