Marina Bay Sands’ The Holiday Light Up on Friday (Nov 18) will see the place transformed into a Christmas wonderland with illuminations and special events.

Starting at 7.30pm at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, the light-up features a Christmas floating forest illuminated in bright shimmering lights, and an ensemble of around 1,000 Christmas trees dressed in fairy curtain lights along with three giant snow globes.

Visitors can also catch a sneak preview of the musical The Sound Of Music on the same night performed by 18 local cast members chosen to play the von Trapp family children. They join Jill-Christine Wiley, the actress who plays Maria Rainer in the upcoming musical at Sands Theatre from Nov 22.

From Nov 18 to Dec 25, the three towers of Marina Bay Sands and the ArtScience Museum will be lit up with animations and laser projections every night in the season’s colours.

The ArtScience Museum is also running a film programme called Doesn’t It Feel Like Christmas from now until Jan 6, where films including Die Hard (1988), Love Actually (2003) and The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) will be screened.

Free and paid tickets can be reserved on the ArtScience Museum’s website.

Festivities continue into the New Year weekend, with British DJ Ben Nicky performing at nightclub MARQUEE Singapore on Dec 30.

Tickets are priced at $50 for ladies and $70 for men, while tickets with expedited entry are priced at $150. Tickets can be purchased at MARQUEE’s website.

Nicky Romero, who ranks at number 26 on DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs poll and known for his viral hit song Toulouse, will perform on Dec 31. Tickets are priced at $80 for ladies and $100 for men, while tickets with expedited entry are priced at $250.

During this season, shoppers at Marina Bay Sands can expect a variety of deals and rewards.
