Madagascar the Musical to be held at Esplanade in January 2024
This will mark the musical’s first and only stop in Southeast Asia.
A musical adaptation of popular animation franchise Madagascar will be held at Esplanade’s Theatres By The Bay from Jan 18 to 28, 2024 as part of its international tour.
The musical, titled Madagascar The Musical, is presented by ABA Productions and Selladoor Worldwide, the producers behind We Will Rock You, Footloose, Fame and Avenue Q.
It will feature a cast and crew of 30 from the United Kingdom, including award-winning director, Kirk Jameson.
According to the organisers, the musical will boast an elaborate display of dance, music, puppetry, costumes and stage design. It will also include storytelling, choreography and the film’s iconic tunes.
It tells the story of Alex the lion and his best friends Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo, escaping New York’s Central Park Zoo with the help of some prodigious penguins to explore the world.
Tickets for Madagascar The Musical will go on sale from 10am on Jun 26.
Ticket buyers can enjoy 20 per cent off on performances that happen from Jan 18 to 19 and from Jan 23 to 25 across all ticket categories by securing tickets by Jul 31, 2023.
