Graphics form a big part of social media marketing in the football world, as clubs try to outdo each other on the digital space.

As part of its efforts to do more, 19 times English football champions Liverpool FC have partnered with Dave Will Design, a graphic design company, to introduce the Walk On series

The series showcases art from freelance artists around the world, who create matchday graphics for the Liverpool social media team to use prior to every single match.

Singaporean graphic designer Najwan Noor’s work was the latest to be featured as part of the Walk On series. His artwork was used by Liverpool on its social media, ahead of their game against Newcastle United on Dec 17.

The design featured their exuberant German manager Jurgen Klopp, silky Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara and potent Portuguese forward Diogo Jota.

Najwan proudly shared on Twitter: “Absolutely buzzing to share the matchday graphic that I created for Liverpool’s match against Newcastle tonight.”

There were several congratulatory replies on Twitter ranging from fellow graphic designers to Najwan’s friends, with comments ranging from “brilliant” to “absolutely insane”.

Liverpool won the match 3-1, including goals from Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Newcastle however did score first, courtesy of former Liverpool man Jonjo Shelvey in the seventh minute.

Najwan, who works for Lion City Sailors as a graphic designer, honed much of his graphic design trade at Temasek Polytechnic, where he graduated with a Diploma in Visual Communication (Major in Illustration) in 2015.

He had also attained the Director’s List Award for the Academic Year 2012/2013, according to his Linkedin profile.

Najwan started his career as a graphic designer/photographer at former Singapore Premier League side Warriors FC, before doing freelance work for the Singapore wrestling scene.

He joined Lion City Sailors in October this year and his works include the loud graphics you see on their social media page from transfer announcements to matchday programs.
