Lights by the Lake festival returns to Jurong Lake Gardens from Aug 25
The Mid-Autumn Festivities will run till Sep 18 and include free activities like lantern making and archery tag.
In celebration of the Mid-Autumn festival, Jurong Lake Gardens will see the return of their annual Lights by The Lake event from Aug 25 to Sep 18.
Organised by The National Parks Board (NParks), in partnership with A-Smart Media Pte Ltd, People’s Association (PA), and South West Community Development Council (South West CDC), the festival features 12 large lantern displays and more than 20 free programmes.
The traditional lantern displays follow the theme “Green and Harmony”, and are designed to encourage people to learn more about the effects of climate change.
They were handcrafted by a hundred professional lantern artisans in China, and feature motifs such as the Four Seasons, along with tourist attractions from Egypt, Germany, the Netherlands and more. The displays will be lit from 7pm to 11pm nightly at Lakeside Field and the waterfront near ABC Waters.

As the festival is being organised in conjunction with the President’s Challenge, visitors can purchase Water Lanterns, miniature Sky Lanterns, or potted Bonsai plants with all proceeds going to the President’s Challenge Charity Fund.
There will be free weekend performances on the first three Friday and Saturday evenings of the festival at 7.45pm and 8.45pm. This is in partnership with the National Arts Council (NAC) and will feature artists such as yIN Harmony, The Clarinet Concord and Dicapella Dizi Ensemble.
Visitors can also check out the festive market outside the Chinese Garden Gate for some food and beverages, or participate in workshops organised by ActiveSG and PAssionWaVe, including lantern making or archery tag.
