Light and sound shows, photo ops: What to expect at Jewel Changi’s Disney100

These activities and displays pay tribute to nearly 100 years of storytelling from The Walt Disney Company.

A range of themed activities and retail offerings was launched by Jewel Changi Airport on Thursday (Jan 12) as part of Disney100, paying tribute to nearly 100 years of storytelling from The Walt Disney Company. 

These include photo spots inspired by select Disney films and a special Disney100 Light and Sound Show featuring some of Disney’s most popular characters. 

Upon entering the Shiseido Forest Valley from The North Entrance, visitors will be greeted with a Disney100 archway and a platinum statue of Mickey Mouse.

Those who want to take pictures with Disney characters like Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse can do so at the meet-and-greet sessions happening at 1pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5pm from Jan 13 to 15 at The North Entrance.

Activities during the launch weekend (Jan 13 to 15) will kick off at 7.30pm at the HSBC Rain Vortex.  

A new six-minute choreographed Disney-themed Disney100 Light and Sound Show will feature a medley of songs, including When You Wish Upon A Star, A Whole New World, You’ve Got A Friend In Me and the theme soundtrack from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame.

There will also be surprise appearances by Disney’s characters during the show from now till Jan 15.

Visitors who miss the launch weekend can still catch a shorter version of the Disney100 Light and Sound Show from Jan 16 to Apr 9.

Ten Disney-themed photo spots are on display at Jewel’s Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park. Inspired by scenes from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars movies and shows, these interactive photo spots are available till Apr 9.

Visitors can also check out four other photo spots called Little Wonders of Singapore that were created in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Those who visit Jewel dressed in outfits inspired by their favourite Disney characters will be entitled to free entry into the Canopy Park till Jan 15. 

Disney fans can now shop for Disney-themed merchandise including toys, stationery, apparel and homeware at the Year of the Rabbit Tsum Tsum pop-up store.

Shoppers who spend a minimum of $80 in a single receipt can redeem a complimentary set of Year of the Rabbit Tsum Tsum red packets (while stocks last). 

Year of the Rabbit Tsum Tsum pop-up store will be open till end February 2023. 

Following February, the retail pop-up will be transformed into The Wonder Store to feature Disney100-themed merchandise, with a wide assortment across Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars branded properties.  

Select Jewel stores will also be selling Disney-themed merchandise including apparel, footwear, jewellery, leather goods and stationery. Stores include Charles & Keith, Pandora, UNIQLO and ZARA. 

Beyond the activities at Jewel, there will also be life-sized installations of Mickey Mouse and Friends figurines in a lion and dragon dance display at CapitaLand malls Bugis+ and Plaza Singapura from Jan 13 to 24, and at IMM from Jan 25 to Feb 5.
