Life-sized LEGO replica of McLaren F1 race car makes pit stop at Orchard Road
British driver Lando Norris will also make an appearance on Sep 28.
While most of us will never be a Formula 1 (F1) driver, you can now get a semblance of what it’s like behind the wheel of a McLaren F1 race car as a life-sized LEGO replica makes its first stop in Southeast Asia from now till Oct 2.
Part of the LEGO Technic McLaren F1 Pop-Up Experience located in front of Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, visitors can literally sit in the driver’s seat of the LEGO model for a photo and have it printed out at the LEGO Photo Print for free.

Built by the only LEGO Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere, Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught, the LEGO F1 car measuring 5.7m by 2.4m was created using 288,315 LEGO bricks. It took 1,893 hours to assemble.
At the pop-up experience, visitors can try their hand at assembling such a masterpiece. They can also challenge other players at the LEGO McLaren Race Car Build station to accomplish the fastest building time of a half-assembled 42141 LEGO Technic McLaren F1 Race Car set, and receive a LEGO minifigure upon completion.

Besides that, there’s also the LEGO Match & Build station whereby players will put their memory and speed to the test, while learning more about the functions of the many buttons on the steering wheel.
Fans of the youngest-ever British F1 driver Lando Norris can also look forward to seeing the man himself as he makes a short pit stop at the pop-up on Sep 28.
There’s also exclusively signed sets of the 42141 LEGO Technic McLaren F1 Race Car to be won, with any purchase from the pop-up store.
The pop-up is located along Orchard Road, in front of Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza and runs till Oct 2. It is open from 11am to 9.30pm.
