Jazz Association Singapore commemorates World Mental Health Day with concert presentation on Oct 9

In commemoration of World Mental Health Day 2022, Jazz Association Singapore (JASS) will present a live concert titled Swinging Through Our Emotions on Oct 9, 3.30pm.

Held at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s Recital Studio, the concert presentation aims to take participants on an experiential journey to discover and explore the five emotions – fear, disgust, sadness, anger and happiness through jazz and a panel of experts.

The concert will be led by executive director and music director of JASS Jeremy Monteiro, psychiatrist Professor Kua Ee Heok, clinical psychologist Aarti Chidambaram and counselling therapist Varian Monteiro, who will be sharing tips on how to manage the various emotions that one goes through.

The talks will be complemented by musical performances by four JASS musicians, namely flutist Rit Xu, bassist Eugene Chew, drummer Yap Ting Wei and Jeremy Monterio on the piano.

Tickets can be purchased through Peatix, with general admission tickets at $20 and student and senior citizen tickets at $16. One can also purchase five tickets in bulk for $17 each.

Swinging Through Our Emotions will also be live-streamed via YouTube on Oct 10, 8am.
