Jackson Wang to hold first solo concert in Singapore on Dec 23
The MAGIC MAN World Tour will start on Nov 26 in Bangkok and includes cities such as Kuala Lumpur and London.
Jackson Wang will perform in Singapore as part of his MAGIC MAN world tour on Dec 23, the K-pop idol announced on his social media on Wednesday (Sep 28). This will be Jackson’s first ever solo tour.
The tour comes after the release of his latest album MAGIC MAN and the music video for one of the album’s songs, Blue on Sep 9.
Jackson made history earlier this year by becoming the first Chinese singer to perform at the Coachella main stage. He collaborated with labelmates from music company 88rising as part of the Head In The Clouds Forever set.
The GOT7 member further explained on his Instagram how the MAGIC MAN album is intended to evoke the “ultimate form of one self” after an individual has gone through different “peaks and valleys” of life to arrive at their most “authentic” version, thus forming their own “MAGIC MAN”.
He last visited Singapore in August, where he hosted the TEAM WANG – Human Remix event at the nightclub Marquee. During his visit, he also explored areas such as Pasir Ris and Chinatown and was even seen clearing his own plates at Changi Airport.
Jackson had previously collaborated with other artistes such as Indonesian rapper Rich Brian, Chinese hip-hop group Higher Brothers and Singapore’s very own JJ Lin.
GOT7 last performed in Singapore in 2018 as part of their EYES ON YOU world tour. The group was supposed to perform again in 2020 for their KEEP SPINNING world tour but it was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Youngjae, another GOT7 member, recently performed in July at the Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands for his mini-concert, Sugar.
Ticketing and concert details for the MAGIC MAN world tour are expected to be announced at a later time.
