Local farm produce and hand-made products are on sale at the inaugural Local Farm Festival from Apr 14 to 16.

The festival is held at the rejuvenated Gillman Barracks’ Block 43 and 47 from 10am to 5pm.

Organised by Gardenasia, the festival features more than 40 local farmers, food technology, startups, artisans, crafters, and social enterprises to encourage appreciation for local farms and a sustainable food future.

Visitors can purchase a wide range of locally grown farm-fresh produce such as eggs and vegetables. There is also an area with goats, chickens and frogs for children to pet and learn how they fit into Singapore’s food history.

A variety of hand-crafted items such as soaps, candles and ceramics are also available for sale.

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) awarded two new tenders to Didi Lifestyle and Charlotte Puxley Flowers. They will occupy the vacant Block 43 and 47.

This follows the earlier award of the five tenders in phase one, which was announced in October 2022.

Both these tenants will introduce green initiatives throughout their tenancies in line with SLA’s vision of a sustainable and eco-friendly area.

Didi Lifestyle will offer retail, food and beverages, workshop offerings and seasonal pop-up events in the near future. It will also deploy solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations.

Charlotte Puxley Flowers will have weekly floral workshops and offer lifestyle event spaces for hosting special occasions and workshops. There will also be a hydroponics system to grow plants and an outdoor cafe decorated with plants and backdrops for pictures.
