Inaugural art fair ART SG to be held in 2023 at Marina Bay Sands
The art fair includes a curated film sector, as well as critical and thought-provoking talks.
ART SG, an inaugural international art fair for Singapore and Southeast Asia, will bring together over 150 leading galleries from around the world to Singapore from Jan 12 to 15, 2023 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
The art fair, presented by founding and lead partner UBS and organised by the Art Assembly, offers a meeting point in Southeast Asia for international galleries and collectors.
ART SG, held in conjunction with Singapore Art Week, will be the first art fair of this scale and international significance in the region.
The galleries at the art fair will be segregated into the sectors GALLERIES, FOCUS, FUTURES and REFRAME.
Visitors will be able to see artworks from the region and worldwide at the main GALLERIES sector. Highlighted collections of the GALLERIES sector include works from David Zwirner, TKG+ and Xavier Hufkens.

Under the FOCUS sector, solo and duo artist programmes, and curated thematic presentations will be featured. There will also be an emphasis on Southeast Asian and Asian artists.

REFRAME will feature galleries presenting art that is engaged with, made or presented using digital technology including digital painting, animation, immersive installations, augmented or virtual reality and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

ART SG will also feature public art programmes of large-scale site-specific installations, a curated film sector, as well as critical and thought-provoking talks and education.
The film sector will be curated by Thai Curator Gridthiya Gaweewong, the Artistic Director of the Jim Thompson Art Center in Bangkok who was recently appointed the Artistic Director of the Thailand Biennale 2023. This sector will be focused on showcasing new film-making practices, experimental film or film as an artistic medium from artists and practitioners from around Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. More details will be announced in due time.
TALKS, a programme which will be curated by Cosmin Costinas, explores a diverse range of topics inspired by the Singapore art scene and beyond. This programme offers a chance to delve deeper into Southeast Asian contemporary culture in context to the global art landscape.
Featured speakers will include names from Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia to foster greater exchanges across these culturally resonant regions and geographies.
