IMPACT 0579: CONNECTING THE COMMUNITY, ONE STORY AT A TIME
Hello! I’m Arman Shah and I’m 34 years old. I’m a feature writer and the founder of The Everyday People. I started this storytelling platform in hopes of inspiring others through powerful stories shared by common folk living in Singapore.
In the past six years of running the website, I’ve interviewed many people from different backgrounds – from ex-offenders and self-made entrepreneurs, to non-profit workers and cancer survivors. I act as a bridge that connects people from different walks of life through shared stories with universal learning experiences.
While the impact of a shared life experience may not be immediately visible or tangible compared to the work of doctors or other noble professions, storytelling is important because it lights that spark of inspiration for people to make a positive change in themselves or others.
As a writer and online publisher, my mission is to spark discussions, touch hearts, expand minds, inspire hope, inculcate empathy, challenge the status quo and make the world a better place, one story at a time.
“What unites people? Armies? Gold? Flags? Stories. There’s nothing in the world more powerful than a good story.”
