IMPACT 0570: HELPING STRAY CATS FIND THEIR NEW HOMES
Hairiani, 33, has volunteered for various causes since her quarter-life crisis years ago. Passionate about helping cats after an encounter with a stray mama cat and her kittens in 2017, Hairiani began feeding community cats and performing trap neuter release (TNR) on the unsterilised cats in her old neighbourhood. She also rescues and rehomes the cats there.
Now that she has moved to a different neighbourhood where there are hardly any community cats, she helps her friend rehome her rescues from the offshore island. Seeing her rescue cats so loved and pampered in their new homes give her the hope and motivation to continue this journey.
This illustration shows a short comic strip about Hairiani roaming around the neighbourhood to look out and search for any stray cats. She uses social media platform, Instagram, to reach out to any possible adopter.
