IMPACT 0449: CROCHETING TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SOCIAL CAUSES
Kiara Tong, 21, is the founder of the Instagram shop Toasted Yarn (@toasted.yarn). She has used her platform to raise funds for various charities that catch her attention, such as the Migrant Worker Fund when COVID-19 first emerged.
Passionate about both human and animal rights, Kiara often volunteers at animal shelters to provide a tangible source of support for the animal causes she strongly believes in. She also believes in sustainable fashion, and hopes that the crochet pieces she creates can bring value to her customers for a long time.
This illustration shows a short comic strip about Kiara’s fundraising effort by selling her handmade crochet apparel and bags.
