IMPACT 0448: CARRYING HER GRANDMOTHER’S LEGACY
After her grandmother passed on, Shiny Phua wanted to champion what she had learnt from her late grandparent. She put the cooking skills she had learnt to use and created AhMah’s Legacy, selling ang ku kuehs & other traditional Teochew snacks.
The illustration below shows Shiny as clones in her home kitchen setting, cooking up traditional Teochew snacks. Her whole family has also joined in to help her, with her brother, mother, and the helper preparing ang ku kueh for delivery and her father overseeing the quality checks on the kueh.
