IMPACT 0439: HARD WORK PAYS OFF FOR NATIONAL FOOTBALLER
Hello! My name is Muhammad Nur Adam Bin Abdullah and I am 21 this year. I am currently a student at Republic Polytechnic and a football player on the side, where I play for the Lion City Sailors Football Club and the national football team.
Being the oldest of four siblings in my family, I feel that it is my responsibility to set a good example for my younger siblings, to inspire them, and hope that they will follow my footsteps or even surpass me one day.
I started playing football when I was five years old. My family was the first to introduce me to this sport and it quickly became one of my favourites. My football career was not without its ups and downs. It came with its own challenges, such as getting injured and doing poorly in certain games. Despite these obstacles, I was driven to overcome them because I was certain that this was the career of my dreams, and I didn’t want my hard work to go to waste.
Nothing is impossible if you work hard enough. My goal in 2021 was to win the Young Player of the Year award, and with much determination and motivation, I managed to achieve this goal. As a bonus, I also achieved the Best Left Back of the Year award. Standing at the podium, it made me realise that if you put in the effort, it will pay off.
