IMPACT 0328: CHANGING THE WORLD, ONE ARM WRESTLE AT A TIME

My name is Valen and I’m 27 this year! I’m the President of Armwrestling Singapore and have been competing in arm wrestling for 10 years. My journey started during secondary school as a way of competing against others. Through the years, this passion snowballed and I have won multiple international competitions representing Singapore.

During the inaugural National Championships hosted by Armwrestling Singapore this year, I plan to spearhead the local arm wrestling scene to raise awareness, develop sporting excellence and make room for everyone to have the opportunity to partake.

Going forward, as an athlete, my goal is to become the world’s best in my weight class. As a leader, I intend to create platforms and policies to empower Singaporeans to enjoy and compete in the sport. I view it as a way to give back to the community, and hope that this will serve as an inspiration to all Singaporeans.
