IMPACT 0115: MR SIGHT, THE TOOL FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED

After Rachel Ch’ng, 29,  was involved in a life-threatening accident while on vacation in Australia, she was grateful for the little acts of kindness she received whilst she was recuperating.

To pass on the kindness, she found multiple ways to help the less fortunate. She volunteered with an organisation for the visually impaired in Singapore, and even created two applications, Mr Sight, which uses pre-trained models to assist with object identification, and Learning Braille, which helps sighted individuals to learn braille in order to communicate with family and friends, from scratch.
