IMPACT 0094: DANCING TO FEEL ALIVE
Joelynn Yeow has a passion for dance and believes that it is a language of the heart. When words aren’t enough, dance speaks straight to the point.
She teaches dance to people of all ages, ranging from youths to elderly, and uses it as a tool to connect, to understand and to love these people. She aims to enable them to better express their emotions and their personality through dance.
Her firm belief is that dance has the potential to change people’s views and lives, to build a more connected community — and that is what she stands for.
“IT’S COMMON TO WANT TO BE PERFECT BUT THAT IS NOT A REALISTIC EXPECTATION. I HOPE PEOPLE LEARN THAT THEY ARE ENOUGH, WANTED AND LOVED AS THEY ARE.”
“DANCE CAN BE A TOOL TO SHARE AND CONNECT WITH OTHERS. WE DON’T HAVE TO TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY. WE CAN CELEBRATE OURSELVES AND EACH OTHER.”
