IMPACT 0046: TASTY EDIBLES MADE FROM INSECTS
20-year-old Gavriel Tan may have just graduated from polytechnic, but has already co-founded his own start-up, Altimate Nutrition. Altimate Nutrition hopes to alleviate key social issues like climate change and food insecurity through their sustainable protein bars, made of insect protein.
Gavriel was inspired after reading a book about the merit of insects published by the United Nations, titled “Edible Insects: Prospects For Food and Security.” He hopes that Altimate Nutrition would become South-East Asia’s largest insect-food company, and produce other food products like chips and muffins, apart from just protein bars.
