IMPACT 0040: MUSIC, THE MEDIUM TO SPREAD LOVE
Despite having a rough start in life, suffering from an auto-immune kidney disease and undergoing six surgeries, Jean Tan, 35, hopes to share her struggles and how she has coped with these difficulties through her music.
The singer-songwriter has sung at fundraisers for several organisations, such as Operation Smile, Architects of Life, and World Vision, as well as at local and international events. Her music has even been used at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games and for two Korean drama mini-series.

“IF I CAN HELP ANYONE FEEL BETTER, AND TO HAVE SOME HOPE THROUGH WHATEVER THEY’RE GOING THROUGH, THAT WOULD BE A BIG WIN FOR ME.”
“I OFTEN LIKE TO SHARE THESE IN SETTINGS WHERE I CAN BE AUTHENTIC AND REAL WITH MY STRUGGLES AND HOW I’VE APPROACHED THEM IN THE PAST THREE DECADES.”
