IMPACT 0021: PROVIDING REFUGE FOR SHELTER DOGS
Vivan Ng, 26, volunteers weekly at dog shelter Uncle Khoe K9. She walks dogs, cleans kennels and participates in their training. Many of them struggle with abuse, abandonment and other trauma.
Vivan hopes to further raise awareness for animal welfare and support the adoption of animals instead of purchasing them from shops. She gets the most joy when the dogs under her care have found a safe and loving home.
“IT’S A BITTERSWEET FEELING BUT WHEN THE DOGS UNDER MY CARE ARE ADOPTED, I AM VERY HAPPY AS NOTHING BEATS A COMFORTABLE HOME WITH A LOVING FAMILY.”
“EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT MY OWN DOGS, I LOOK FORWARD TO THE WEEKENDS WHEN I CAN GO DOWN TO SPEND TIME WITH THEM.”
