IKEA’s CNY 2023 FÖSSTA collection to feature plum blossom prints and rabbit designs inspired by Tang Dynasty art
The collection launches in stores from end December.
To usher in Lunar New Year 2023, IKEA will launch a new collection inspired by the art of the Tang Dynasty along with festive goodies.
The collection, titled FÖSSTA, will feature plum blossom prints and rabbit design to signify the Year of the Rabbit, said IKEA in a press release on Tuesday (Dec 20). It launches in stores at the end of December.
Included in the collection is the FÖSSTA box. Decked in red with prints inspired by traditional Chinese ink and brush paintings, the box can function as a storage solution for those who would like to easily stow away their unwanted items.

For those planning to host guests during the festive period, the 23cm FÖSSTA serving bowl will come in handy for serving Lunar New Year goodies. The bowl sports embossed geometric patterns, which are inspired by the art of the Tang Dynasty.

Also included in the collection is a table-runner featuring subtle plum blossom prints inspired by traditional Chinese ink and brush paintings, artificial flowers and a vase.

The festive collection also comes with an adorable bunny-shaped cushion, for those who want to ensure their house stays popular with kids and those young at heart.

IKEA’s Swedish restaurant and Swedish Food Market will serve special Lunar New Year treats. The restaurant dishes will be available from Jan 3 to 28 while the offerings at the market will be sold from Jan 3 to 23.
Seafood lovers may enjoy the half lobster and organic spaghetti with chilli crab sauce (priced at $15) while meat lovers can look forward to the five-piece pork dumplings a go.
For those who are more into sustainability, there is the plant-based golden fillet (priced at $7) and fries as well as a (what else!) rabbit bun filled with red bean ($2.80).

IKEA will also sell CNY staples such as Bak Kwa ($23.80 for 500g) and Mandarin oranges ($13.80 for 24). For something a little more unique, there is the Prosperity Cat Macaron ($4.80 for IKEA Family members).

There will also be lion dance performances held at IKEA stores islandwide on Jan 28 and 29, for those looking to bask in the CNY atmosphere.
Between Jan 7 and 15, shoppers can also pick up tips like decluttering and home organisation, or learn how to create a stunning floral centrepiece with in-store workshops.
