IKEA to launch plant-based menu in October for World Vegetarian Day

Plant-based food items will be available on the IKEA menu this October in commemoration of World Vegetarian Day on Oct 1. 

One of the plant-based selections is the vegetable balls with curry sauce and mushroom soup priced at $9. From Oct 1 to 15, IKEA Family members will be entitled to purchase it at a discounted price of $7.50.

Another item, only available during breakfast hours, is the plant-based patty breakfast set ($3.50).

Making its appearance on the IKEA menu for the first time is the plant-based dumplings ($3.90).

From Oct 16 to 31, IKEA will donate $2 for every portion of food sold to fund the School Goodie Bag Programme by Food from the Heart as part of World Food Day.

The items considered for the donation are the 12-piece Swedish meatballs with mashed potato and mushroom soup ($12.90), the 12-piece plant balls with mashed potato and mushroom soup at IKEA ($12.50) and the vegetable balls with curry sauce and mushroom soup ($9). 

IKEA Family members can enjoy these items at the discounted prices of $10.50, $10 and $7.50 respectively.

As part of the spooky season, IKEA will also offer Halloween themed food items.

This includes the 6-piece Buffalo wings ($9.90), available from Oct 29 to Nov 6, and Halloween cupcakes ($4.50), available from Oct 29 to Nov 20.
