Ikea recalls METALLISK espresso maker due to risk of bursting
Buyers can get a full refund without proof of purchase when they return the product at any IKEA store.
IKEA announced a recall of its METALLISK espresso maker on Jun 8 due to “an increased risk of the product bursting during use”.
The recall only applies to the METALLISK espresso maker with silver or grey stainless steel safety valves. The affected model is 0.4 litres and designed to be used on a hob.
The increased risk stems from a change of material and construction of the stainless steel safety valve, said IKEA.
It added that no incidents of the product bursting have been reported in Singapore.
Affected buyers can return their espresso makers to any IKEA store and receive a full refund without showing any proof of purchase or receipt.
For more information, customers can contact the IKEA Customer Contact Centre at 6786 6868.
