IKEA partners LEGO to create the perfect storage box for your bricks
The Bygglek collection is coming to IKEA Singapore in early 2021.
LEGO and IKEA fans, time to get excited as these two popular brands launch a collaboration two years in the making — the Bygglek collection.
The new collection contains boxes made out of LEGO studs with flaps at the side of the boxes. It allows you to build LEGO masterpieces on top of the box and at the sides and when you are done, you can store the LEGO bricks in the box for easy keeping.
One set of three small boxes, two sets of bigger boxes, and one set of LEGO bricks make up the Bygglek – which means “to build and play” – product line.
The Bygglek collection will be released in Europe and North America first on 1 Oct, before being rolled out to other countries. Although the collection is coming to IKEA Singapore in early 2021, no specific date has been given yet.
Teasers of the collaboration were released in June 2019, when both companies revealed the name of the product line but did not provide further details. At that time, a press release stated that the collaboration was first thought of in 2018.

“Where adults often see mess, children see a stimulating creative environment, and Bygglek will help bridge the gap between these two views to ensure more creative play in homes around the world,” said IKEA designer, Andreas Fredriksson.
While Bygglek might not be available in Singapore yet, there are other collections to look out. IKEA Singapore this month launched a home collection born from a team up between Bangkok fashion brand, Greyhound Original and IKEA, which feature products like plastic bottle lamps.
In July, IKEA Japan released a clothing collection inspired by Tokyo street fashion. So, you could be walking around wearing an IKEA barcode tee shirt if you manage to buy the products from IKEA Japan!
