Huawei hosts tech competition to promote better living in Singapore
Participants will get the opportunity to win cash prizes up to $10,000.
Huawei is organising a competition for participants aged 18 to 35 to promote better living in Singapore using technology with cash prizes of up to $10,000.
Now open for applicants, the Huawei Tech4City Competition 2022 provides an opportunity for youths to come together in teams and brainstorm on how to apply digital technology and create modern solutions to improve day-to-day life.
No prior knowledge and experience in technology and city planning are needed to enter the competition. Participants can begin applying for the competition here at any time until Aug 31.
Through this competition, participants will get to explore and learn more about different aspects of living in Singapore and its challenges. For example, each team will need to base their proposed solution based on one out of the three themes, Nature, Culture, or Neighbour.
The themes explore relevant areas of concern in Singapore like energy saving, emission reduction, protection of historical monuments and providing care for people with disabilities.
Mentorship and learning opportunities with Huawei experts and highly knowledgeable individuals in the different industries are some of the benefits that participants are entitled to when preparing for the competition.
They will also be able to network with like-minded youths as well as professionals from the various industries through the three Tech4City Community Events that will take place in June, July, and August.
On Jun 23, the first community event titled The Crucial Role of Technology in Environmental Protection will take place to cover the theme, Nature.
Located at Huawei AI Lab at Changi Business Park, a discussion on sustainability and insights on successful case studies of technology positively impacting our environment will take place.
The event will take place from 3pm to 4.30pm. Participants who are interested in attending the event can sign up here.
