How to check the current air quality during the haze season
These resources will give you hourly updates about the PM2.5 readings in Singapore.
Planning to head outdoors for a walk? Besides checking the weather forecast, you can now check the current air quality during the haze season.
Created by the National Environment Agency and the Ministry of Health, the haze microsite provides sufficient information about the 1-hour average concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), which can fluctuate throughout the day due to weather conditions.
Before you step out for immediate outdoor activities within the same day, such as going for a jog or a run, do check the microsite for the latest 1-hour PM2.5 readings.
These readings are categorised in four bands: Band 1 (Normal), Band 2 (Elevated), Band 3 (High) and Band 4 (Very High). Short-term exposure to PM2.5 may result in respiratory symptoms and irritation to the eyes, nose and throat.

If you’re planning your activities ahead, you can refer to the 24-hour PSI forecast and its corresponding health advisories. These updates can also be accessed via the myENV app.

While the skies seem clear for now, several news reports have estimated that the haze may hit Singapore as early as August, due to the high number of hotspots reported in Central Kalimantan, the third largest province in Indonesia.
In the meantime, do monitor your own health and physical conditions and check these resources before heading out!
