HomeTeamNS’ annual REAL Run to return as a physical event on Oct 8

After two years of virtual runs during the pandemic, HomeTeamNS’ annual flagship event REAL (Regular Exercise, Active Lifestyle) Run will return as a physical event at Gardens by the Bay on Oct 8.  

Established in 1996, the REAL Run started out as an initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst Home Team NSmen. Participants are given a choice between the 5km or 10km route, both ending at Gardens by the Bay’s The Meadow.

Runners participating in the 10km run will be flagged off at 7am, 7.05 am and 7.10 am, whereas 5km runners will begin at 7.15am. All runners are expected to be ready at the starting pen 30 minutes before their respective flag-off times, where they can look forward to one of REAL Run’s unique features – the iconic water curtain jet spray flag-off by Singapore Civil Defence Force’s Red Rhinos.

Each participant is entitled to a run pack, which can be collected at HomeTeamNS Khatib on Sep 24 and 25, from 11am to 7pm. Runners who successfully complete their chosen distance this year will receive a Finisher Tee, which can be collected upon completion of the run.

There are also carnival booths set up for runners at the end of the run, and each runner can bring along two guests to the carnival.

In commemoration of the “Generations of Strength” NS55 theme this year, HomeTeamNS will give away two sets of On Shoes bundles (worth $438 each) to two father-child pairs participating in the run.

Registration for the run is split into two categories – the Closed category for Singaporeans and PRs, as well as the Open category for foreigners. Participants who are HomeTeamNS members or SAFRA/Passion cardholders are entitled to respective registration discounts. 

The top three finishers from the respective categories will receive varying cash prizes. The full list of registration fees and cash prizes for the different categories can be found on HomeTeamNS’ website.
