Hello Kitty theme park and hotel slated to open in China by 2025
Spanning 52 acres, Sanya Hello Kitty Resort will feature over 400 Sanrio characters, including Hello Kitty, My Melody and Gudetama.
Come 2025, there will be something huge for Hello Kitty fans to look forward to – an amusement park and hotel themed after their favourite characters to open in Hainan, China.
Branded as Sanya Hello KItty Resort, its attractions include rides, a hotel and shops centred around Hello Kitty with local elements from the Chinese region.
Construction of the 52-acre resort began last December, with its amusement park section set to open in the second half of 2024.

In addition to the theme park, a Hyatt-imprint Hello Kitty hotel will open in 2025, with 221 rooms and villas decorated with Hello Kitty designs and other well-known Sanrio characters.

Overseeing developer Keyestone Group will provide updates online as the construction progresses.
In the meantime, fans can consider visiting Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo instead or book a Hello Kitty-themed staycation package at Fairmont Singapore.
