We often remember a neighbourhood by its architecture and the food worth trying in its vicinity.

But how about capturing its identity through songs from our playlists?

The Housing & Development Board (HDB) is making playlists representing Punggol, Dawson and Pasir Ris through a contest from now till Jan 31.

Dubbed the Sounds of the Neighbourhood contest, accompanied with the #MyHDBWayofLife hashtag, it is looking to the public for song recommendations.

Participants need only to head to HDB’s Facebook page to input their chosen song and explain how it reminds them of that particular neighbourhood.

The top five most creative entries for each neighbourhood will receive $50 worth of shopping vouchers. Submissions for the contest close at 11.59pm on Jan 31.
