Hasbro releases new Hello Kitty and Friends edition of its Monopoly board game
The landmarks, character tokens, and even the dollar notes are all Hello Kitty-themed.
In collaboration with Sanrio, Hasbro has released a new Hello Kitty and Friends version of its popular Monopoly board game.
Instead of city-like areas in typical Monopoly games, landmarks are now replaced with character-themed places such as My Melody’s Flower Shop, Hello Kitty’s Hotel, and Little Twin Stars’ Spa.
The game seats up to six players with a total of seven character tokens to choose from, including Kerropi, Pochacco, Kuromi and more.
The Community Chests and Chance cards are also replaced with Celebrations and Adventures cards respectively. These cards allow players to participate in in-game events such as the Omaturi Festival, or collect rewards such as “winning a bake-off”.

Like the player tokens, the dollar bills are character-themed as well, featuring each of the seven characters on the various notes.
The board game is currently sold out on Sanrio’s webstore, but interested buyers can opt in for notifications of future restocks.
