Gucci and Adidas collaboration to launch on Jun 7, features retro athletic staples and leisurewear
The collection will be available online as well as in select stores.
The first-time collaboration between Gucci and Adidas is set to launch on Jun 7.
The two fashion powerhouses had teased the partnership during Gucci’s “Exquisite Gucci” Fall/Winter 2022 show in February which was graced by celebrities such as Rihanna, ASAP Rocky and Jared Leto.
Inspired by 80s-style archival catalogues, the collection is the brainchild of Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director. It weaves vintage glamour and athleisure in a line-up that includes vibrant tracksuits, tennis vests and variations of Adidas’s classic Gazelle sneakers.
“With the heritage of both brands encoded in a trio of lines, a fixation on stripes plays out across ready-to-wear pieces that echo the silhouettes of athletic staples and leisurewear,” said Adidas on Instagram.
Playing on the logomania trend, the releases are conspicuously emblazoned with a combination of Gucci’s signature double G monogram and Adidas’s iconic lotus-shaped trefoil emblem.
Standouts include the viscose zip-up jacket which is expected to cost $3,300 and the viscose cardigan which will be priced at $3,500.
As for accessories, the duffel bag which comes in multiple sizes will start from $3,880. An assortment of hats are available as well from $560 onwards.
Those who wish to pursue the full collection can do so on Gucci’s website.
The drop will be available online and through the Adidas CONFIRMED application, as well as at select stores nationwide.
