Grab to temporarily introduce 50 cents driver fee from Apr 1 to May 31
Grab will review the charge as it continues to monitor the situation.
From Apr 1 to May 31, Grab will be introducing a temporary fee of 50 cents per ride for drivers in addition to its ongoing commission rebates and fuel discounts.
As the price of petrol alone has increased by more than 25 per cent, the fee is meant to assist drivers with operating costs on the road, said Grab.
This new charge is applicable to all ride types except for Standard Taxis, and will not be subject to commission.
Grab will review the charge as it continues to monitor the situation.
Eligible drivers can also receive an additional one-time fuel discount at Caltex on top of the existing 29 per cent CaltexGo discount.
This initiative will allow drivers to enjoy up to 51 per cent off on fuel based on 50L pumped.
A five per cent commission rebate for the first 199 completed trips will be granted to eligible drivers as well.
Previously, Gojek and ComfortDelGro have also introduced a temporary price hike for similar reasons.
